The best volgas can probably be found in Afghanistan. I bought mine in Kabul in August 2001, it used to be a taxi doing the Kabul - Pul-i-Khumri road through Bamyan (the Salang was closed then). Took it, loved it, bought it. It was the only 2WD vehicle able to handle these roads. There are still quite a few volgas in excellent conditions driving around.
